The returns of the first round of the presidential elections in Armenia imbue with confidence in my victory in the second round. Acting Armenian president Robert Kocharian said at a meeting with journalists today. He noted that the current situation was very much similar to that in the course of the previous elections held in 1998. “At the time I gathered 38.8% of votes at a similar participation rate of the electorate, while the number is 49% now,” – the president said. R.Kocharian considers he will collect the necessary quantity of votes for gaining a cogent victory the second round.
