The OSCE observation mission intends to continue activities in the second round of the presidential elections in Armenia. Head of the international election observation mission deployed by the OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Peter Eicher said at a meeting with chairman of the central electoral commission of Armenia Artak Sahradian. As the commission information service told “Arka” agency, A.Sahradian informed the observers that the term of accreditation of observation missions was extended up to March 15. The parties also concerned the situation in the Republic after the first round of the elections. P.Eicher reported he had had a meeting with presidential contender Stepan Demirchian and had expressed concern about the anti-constitutional calls at the meetings. In the words of the OSCE observers’ head, “violence and threats should not be present in a democratic country.” Let us remind that the OSCE observation mission is composed of 26 long-term observers from 16 countries and 250 short-term OSCE observers.
