Iranian Vice-President Mohammad Reza Aref today met with Armenian Ambassador to Iran Karen Nazarian, reported Irna. In the course of the meeting Mohammad Reza Aref and Karen Nazarian noted the similarity of the positions of Iran and Armenia over a number of regional and international policy issues, as well as exchanged views over a wide range of issues. The IRI Vice-President appreciated the Iranian-Armenian relations, emphasizing Iran views relations with Armenia as priority taking into account the cultural and historical community of the peoples of the two countries. «Iran’s efforts aim at strengthening and expansion of the cooperation with Armenia in all spheres, especially in electric power and cargo transportation,» Iranian Vice-President noted. Aref and Nazarian noted the high level of Iran-Armenia relations, which stimulates the growth of the commodity turnover, working out and realization of joint programs. At the same time they recognized the economic potential that is being used. Having appreciated the balanced policy Iran pursues in the region, Karen Nazarian expressed readiness to make every effort to intensify and develop the Armenian-Iranian relation. He also expressed Armenian leaders’ interest in further expansion of the cooperation in Iran in all spheres, especially in trade and economy.
