A sitting of the central electoral commission of Armenia has approved the pattern of the ballot to be used in the course of the second round of the presidential elections March 5. According to a decision of the commission, the names of presidential contenders – leader of People party of Armenia Stepan Demirchian and acting president Robert Kocharian – are written on the ballots in the alphabetical order. The commission also approved the form of electoral rolls for the second round. As noted by deputy head of the commission Hamlet Abrahamian, as 10 432 citizens have restored their franchise via court in the course of the first round, the electoral register needs to be remedied. Let us note that “National Unification” party representative to the commission Zaven Pluzian demonstratively refused to participate both in the commission sitting and the vote, thus protesting, in his own words, “against authority arbitrariness in the course of the elections.”
