POLITICAL FORCES BACKING ACTING PRESIDENT SURE IN HIS VICTORY IN SECOND ROUND

The political forces backing acting Armenian president Robert Kocharian are sure their candidate will win in the second round of the elections. As vice-speaker of the Armenian parliament, member of Republican party board Tigran Torosian told the Public Television Company of Armenia, the operation of the electoral headquarters within the two weeks preceding the second round should be more organized and efficient. It will grant an opportunity to have returns that will not cause anybody’s doubt and the new elected president enjoying the support of the society will set about solving the problems of the country more resolutely. As of the opposition statements on violations in the course of the first round, the vice-speaker emphasized that some of them could be considered nothing else but ungrounded. In his words, if trespasses are registered in the course of the elections, these should be reported in the documentary form and be conveyed to relevant bodies – the central electoral commission, courts and to the Constitutional Court in case the results of the vote are appealed.
