Not opening or closing of borders but change of mentality is essential for the establishment of the Armenia-Turkey relations, Turhan Comez, a member of the Turkish parliament and Advisor to the Turkish Prime Minister stated in Yerevan, Yerkir Online reports. In his words, the level of the Armenian-Turkish relations will raise in several years. When commenting on Turkey’s position conditioned by the Armenian-Azeri conflict he noted, “I suppose it is incorrect to condition the Armenian-Turkish relations by a third country.” According to him such questions should be settled via dialogues and discussions. When answering the question about the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Turkey he supported the position of his country and noted that “the events of 1915 were sad and Turkey also suffered losses at that period.” Meanwhile he noted that he did not expect Armenia to accord such a hearty welcome. According to him, his visit to Armenia is a step towards the establishment of the Armenian-Turkish relations, opening of the border.
