Conservative Party withdraws from ANC

Conservative Party of Armenia has announced a decision to quit the Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc on Dec 25.

Party chairman Mikayel Hayrapetyan issued a statement, citing ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrossian’s refusal to join the presidential race as the reason behind the decision.

“Conservative Party expresses its gratitude to the first RA president for assuming the ANC bloc chairmanship in 2007. We will continue consistent struggle for establishment of constitutional order and Western values in the country,” the statement reads.
