Senior scientist of Yerevan offshoot of Virage Logic Corp., specialist of chip testing techniques Yervand Zoryan was awarded the 2005 IEEE Industrial Pioneer Award, Corporation Yerevan offshoot Director General Varuzhan Masarajyan stated in a conversation with a reporter of .am edition of PanARMENIAN.Net. In Director General’s words the award was for his contributions to working out and production of a crystal-based memory chip. Zoryan’s design-for-test technology through Built-In Self-Test solutions allows notably increasing the productiveness and reliability of digital computers. Zoryan works at Virage Logic since 2000. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and an honorary doctor of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences, is an author of 4 books, over 300 scientific publications. Mr. Zoryan also holds 12 US patents. In 2003, the Armenian scientist was named by EE Times as one of 13 people “who are influencing the course of semiconductor development technology and taking it into realms that exceed the bounds set by the inventors of the transistor more than 50 years ago”. It should be noted that Virage Logic Corp. has worked in Armenia since 1999. The Corporation has its representations in 12 cities of seven countries of the world.
