Expert says OSCE MG Co-Chairs facing ideological crisis

Armenian-Azerbaijani talks have yielded no progress in the framework of OSCE Minsk Group, political expert Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan said.

“The process has reached a deadlock, with the parties pinning the blame on one another. Azerbaijan’s policy inspires no hopes,” he told a news conference.

“OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs are facing an ideological crisis,” the political analyst said, adding that France will take measures in settlement of the problems in 2013.

“Humanitarian programs will be implemented with offers towards the global solution to the problem hardly to be made. Steps will be taken to ensure the security of border areas. The Co-Chairs will decrease the frequency of the meetings due to the political developments in both countries and the forthcoming presidential elections,” he said.

“Azerbaijan seeks to alter the Minsk Group format, with Turkey to assume an active role in that case. Certainly this will harm the interests of Armenia and Artsakh,” the expert said.
