After tying Tata Steel Chess 2013 second round against Norway’s Magnus Carlsen, Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian said he was disappointed with the result as victory was close.
“I demonstrated a good game until a certain minute. Perhaps I should have played 37.Rxf5 instead of 37.g4,” Aronian said.
Magnus Carlsen, in turn, said that the game proved a success for him in the end.
Aronian scored 1 point to share 3-12 places. He will face off against India’s Pentala Harikrishna in the 3rd round.
