JOURNALIST COMMUNITY DOUBTS IMPARTIALITY OF ARMENIAN NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR TV AND RADIO BROADCASTING

Depriving “A1+” and “Noyan Tapan” independent companies of the license for air gives rise to doubts regarding the impartiality of the Armenian National Commission for TV and radio broadcasting. Such an opinion is held by leader of “Reporters without borders” international organization Robert Menard. In his words, as it is proceeds from the press release spread by IFES/ Armenia service these doubts are based on the fact that the commission leadership and its members have been appointed by the president of the republic. The absence of these two channels adversely affects the information field of Armenia, R. Menard considers. He called the Commission leadership to elucidate the juridical reasons for the refusal to give license to “A1+” and “Noyan Tapan” and in future to make the contest more transparent. To remind, according to the results of the contest held July 18, the National Commission for TV and radio broadcasting of the Republic of Armenia again refused “A1+” and “Noyan Tapan” Armenian TV companies license for air.
