The U.S. support efforts directed to the Karabakh conflict settlement and hopes that the latest Kocharian-Aliyev meeting will prove efficient, U.S. Ambassador to the OSCE Julie Finley stated in Vienna when addressing the OSCE Permanent Council. Julie Finley confirmed the position of the White House to promote the soonest settlement of the conflict. She reminded that on the threshold of the Kazan meeting U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice telephoned the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan to call them to progress. “Being one of the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group the U.S. is taking active part in the ongoing negotiation process”, the diplomat noted adding that the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict will have a positive impact on the population of the whole region.
