GEORGIA AGAINST FORMING COMMON ECONOMIC SPACE WITHIN CIS

Georgia is against forming common economic space within the CIS and will not join the draft of that document. The ministry of economy, industry and trade of Georgia released the official statement on that yesterday. The statement says that pursuing a common economic, custom, tax and currency policy within the CIS is contrary to political and economic interests of Georgia, “especially against the background of the numerous unsolved and disputed issues in relations with Russia.” It should be noted that the discussion of the document on formation of common economic space is planned at the September summit of the Commonwealth heads in Yalta.
