Armenian parliament to discuss holding special meeting

Armenian parliamentary forces will hold a consultation this week, with the opposition’s offer to convoke a special meeting on post-election developments on the agenda, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group leader said.

Galust Sahakyan noted that the text of the announcement was drafted, in consideration of the political forces’ statements.

“Each parliamentary group is free to submit its proposals,” RPA representative said, stressing the need for the dialogue to become a tradition in Armenia’s political culture.

The MP further said that the main offers were related to the possible amendments to the electoral code, with the necessity to make constitutional amendments also discussed.
