U.S. Assistant Secretary of State: Settlement of Karabakh Problem by Force Impossible

“It is impossible to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh problem by force,” Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Daniel Fried stated in Baku. In his opinion, suitable situation for the peaceful resolution of the conflict has been created. Mr. Fried called upon the Armenian and Azerbaijani leadership to reach a compromise on the issue. He also said that the U.S. supports fair settlement of the problem.
