Former presidential candidate, literature expert Vardan Sedrakyan’s appeal will be filed to the court today, on April 2, Sedrakyan’s lawyer Alexander Sirunyan’s office reported.
According to March 25 court ruling, ex-candidate Sedrakyan will continue to serve his jail term.
On March 5, Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts ruled for a preliminary 2-month jail term for Sedrakyan, who is charged with ordering January 31 assassination attempt on former presidential candidate, National Self-Determination Union party chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan.
