EDUARD SHEVARDNADZE AGAIN PUT POLITICAL CONDITIONS FOR OPENING RAIL COMMUNICATION VIA ABKHAZIA

Official Tbilisi is not against restoration of railway communication via Abkhazia. Georgian president Eduard Schevardnazde said in a radio interview. “Georgia is ready to open the rail traffic up to Sukhumi, as well as to Tbilisi and farther to Armenia and Azerbaijan, but simultaneously to the beginning of the process of returning refugees to Abkhazia,” – he said. At the same time E.Shevardnadze noted that Russian president Vladimir Putin, who had been present at the confidential meeting in Kiev and had shared the position, did not tell journalists about it due to some reason.
