Ankara Hopes for Turning Point in Karabakh Settlement in 2006

Turkey hopes for a break in the process of settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in 2006, Turkish Deputy FM Nabi Sensoy stated addressing the session of the Council of the OSCE FMs in Ljubljana. “We welcome the progress made at the talks between our neighbors Armenia and Azerbaijan over settlement of the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh. We hope to see a turning point in 2006. Turkey will continue its efforts aimed at active encouragement of the final solution of the conflict, based on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan,” Nabi Sensoy said.

In his turn Ukrainian FM Boris Tarasyuk stated in Ljubljana that Kiev stand in principal lies in “conflicts should be solved on the basis of principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders in compliance with respective UN Security Council resolutions.” “We are encouraged by positive signs in the NK peace process in Azerbaijan,” he said, reported Mediamax.
