Armenian parliament speaker warns MPs against ‘skipping’ meetings

Today, on May 2, speaker Hovik Abrahamyan urged the MPs to attend the Armenian National Assembly meetings.

Upon completion of the voting on the bills, many of the MPs (including representatives of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA and Prosperous Armenia) left the hall.

The speaker further warned the MPs against “skipping” the parliament meetings, pledging to take relevant measures following the completion of the city council election campaign.

Mr. Abrahamyan noted that the names of the MPs present at the National Assembly meetings will henceforth be announced on the NA website, with the absentees to be deprived of the salary and of the right to the depart on working visits.
