Solemn measures of celebrating the 1700-th anniversary of the foundation and consecration of the St. Echmiadzin Cathedral will begin in Armenia in the summer. As reported by the Holy See chancellery, the first congress of the young adherents of the Armenian Apostolic Church will be held in early July, at which the formation of an All-Church Armenian Youth Center is planned. A congress of clerics representing all Armenian Apostolic Church dioceses will be held in Vazgenian seminary in Sevan July 23-27. A jubilee sitting of the Synod is also planned. An international conference devoted to the jubilee will be held in the autumn. Let us note that the Echmiadzin Cathedral was built on the decree of Thrdat king and with the blessing of first Armenian Catholicos Gregory Illuminator in 303 – 2 years after Armenia’s adoption of Christianity as state religion.
