CE SECRETARY GENERAL EMPHASIZED VITAL IMPORTANCE OF ARMENIAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

The presidential elections planned in Armenia and Azerbaijan this year, as well as the parliamentary elections in Georgia “are of vital importance for strengthening democracy and peaceful development of the region.” As reported by “Mediamax” agency, Council of Europe secretary general Walter Schwimmer said. In his words, the CE actively participates in the preparation and control of the electoral processes in all the three South Caucasian countries. “In this regard we intend to hold a meeting with participation of all organizations included in these processes,” – the CE secretary general said.
