ROBERT KOCHARIAN FOR OPENING RAIL COMMUNICATION BETWEEN ARMENIA AND RUSSIA THROUGH ABKHAZ TERRITORY

Armenian president Robert Kocharian had a meeting with Georgian leader Eduard Schevardnadze in Kiev today. In the course of the conversation, as reported by “Arka” agency, R.Kocharian supported “the idea of opening the rail communication through Abkhazia, which would also include the Armenian railway.” Let us note that Robert Kocharian is in Kiev to participate in the unofficial summit of CIS heads. The joint meeting of the presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Russia is expected within the visit framework.
