The Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia received on May 13 an agreement attached to the gas price rise offer which entered into force on April 1, according to the leader of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) parliamentary group.
Levon Zurabyan told a press briefing that the gas price deal was signed before April 1, in view of the date it entered into force.
“Thus, we assume that the authorities were aware of the information before the city council polls and even the presidential elections. The gas price was probably negotiated with the Russian side in fall 2012,”
The ANC member said that the information would have affected the results of the elections had it been announced before the polls.
“The authorities manipulated the public, keeping the information in secret,” Mr. Zurabyan said.
