The Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (Employers) of Armenia (UMB(E)A) convened a special session to address the issues of farmers afflicted over recent strong hails.
The representatives of the Union urged the entrepreneurs for aid through donations to the farmers outreach foundation.
According to UMB(E)A, the first donations have already been made, with Apaven company director Arsen Ghazaryan, Flash company president Barsegh Barseghyan, Euroterm company president Eduard Ghazaryan having transferred AMD 2 million each in assistance.
Over 60 thousand villagers in Armenia are currently in need of sustenance, with the losses from damaged harvest totaling AMD 25 billion.
A newly formed farmers outreach foundation will be collecting means till August 1, with a special committee for distribution of sums raised to be formed later.
