Gas Pipeline Restoration Works Temporarily Ceased

Restoration of Mozdok-Tbilisi pipeline has been temporarily ceased. Gas condensate started leaking through the bibb from the Georgian side, which makes it dangerous to weld. As the Russian Emergency Ministry reports, it is impossible yet to stop the leak. As a result, the start of pumping gas to Georgia and Armenia has been postponed.
Explosions at the gas pipeline in North Ossetia occurred on the night of Sunday. Explosive devices detonated on main and reserve branches of the North Caucasus-Transcaucasus pipeline, one in twenty minutes after another. The explosions were equivalent of 700-800 g of TNT. The Russian Prosecution regards it as a diversion. Georgia receives Russian gas through transit via Azerbaijan, where Gazprom increased the amount of gas supplies, and Armenia uses gas from the Abovyan underground gas reservoir, reported IA Regnum.
