Armenia should first of all rely on its own capacity, rather than on foreign support, political expert, Director of Regional Studies Center (RSC) said.
During a seminar titled “Armenia: EU Association Agreement, security chances and challenges”, Richard Giragosian stressed the need for careful analysis of the situation when deciding on the EU Association Agreement.
“Armenia must implement radical reforms following the Vilnius summit, with no alternative left,” the expert said, hailing the opportunities of greater integration in the face of the current isolation.
“The agreement will also contribute to the establishment and preservation of regional stability. The deal plays a strategic role for Armenia. Yerevan can’t miss this opportunity,” Mr. Giragosian said.
Armenia-EU Association talks have lasted for 3 years. The document will replace Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA). It also includes provisions on cooperation in EU foreign and security issues, except for those regarding integration, movement and energy.
