Salaries for the public workers will be raised in 2014, Armenia’s Finance Minister said.
According to David Sargsyan, about AMD 51bln will be allocated in the framework of the government’s expenditure program for 2014-2016 to increase wages for civil workers.
Besides, he said, the minimum salary will total AMD 50 000 starting January 1, 2014, with additional AMD 10bln to be assigned for the purpose. “Currently, the salary fund totals about AMD 240bln. In 2014 it will grow by AMD 60bln or 40%,” the Minister said.
Since July 1, the minimum salary in Armenia rose to AMD 45 000 instead of previous AMD 35 000.
