Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalybov has set about destruction of an ancient Christian cemetery in Montino district in the city center. The cemetery site will be provided for new building projects, construction of cottages and villas. The Real Azerbaijan Baku newspaper called the barbarism Abu-fascism. When indignant Baku residents plunged to the city administration demanding to stop next surge of vandalism in Baku, Abutalybov assured Russian residents of the capital that demolition of the cemetery is allegedly an order of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who had ordered the Mayor to lay a new highway.
