OSCE: Political Dialogue Only Acceptable Way to Solve Karabakh Issue

Political dialogue remains the only acceptable way to solve the dispute over Nagorno Karabakh, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Karel de Gucht stated. In his words, any other solution is incompatible with OSCE values and commitments. If any form of agreement is reached over core principles, the OSCE is ready to make a significant contribution to implement the agreement, he remarked. Still more work is to be done for transferring the agreement into a full and complete internationally guaranteed peace treaty, he added. I can pledge that the OSCE is ready to do what it can to help in settlement of issue. As of the opportunity of deployment of peacekeeping forces in the zone of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Karel de Gucht remarked the OSCE is ready to provide assistance to see the accord fulfilling, including forming peacekeeping forces or promotion of economic or environment agreements, if the parties ask for it. When assessing the OSCE MG activities, de Gucht said that Belgium’s presidency in cooperation with co-chairs of the OSCE MG will do their best to promote the peace process. I am ready to pay all my attention to the process and in case any decision is passed, we can ensure its implementation, reported Trend agency.
