The Council of Armenian NGOs of Georgian Samtskhe-Javakheti region, mostly populated by Armenians, has issued a statement in support of the rally, being held in Yerevan to commemorate victims of pogroms in Sumgait and crimes against Armenians in Azerbaijan. The Council statement notes that “international community’s connivance to criminal policy pursued by Azerbaijan against Armenians resulted in destruction of Armenian monuments and headstones in Old Julfa, Nakhichevan.” “Annihilation of peoples, their cultural legacy – irrespective of the methods – should be censured,” says the statement of NGOs of Samtskhe-Javakheti, reports A-Info.
