ARMENIAN DEFENSE MINISTRY DENIED BAKU REPORTS ON FIRE EXCHANGE AT NAKHICHEVAN BORDER

Armenian defense ministry has denied reports of the Azeri defense department that Armenian detachments allegedly undertook an attempt to attack border points of Nakhichevan the other day. As the press service of the defense ministry of Armenia told “Arminfo” agency, the reports on skirmish between the Armenian and Azeri parties and killing an Azeri serviceman are false. Meanwhile, referring to the defense ministry of Azerbaijan, Baku media reported yesterday that detachments of the Armenian armed forces had attacked an Azeri border post situated in Shahbuz region of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic. Resulting from the exchange of fire, which, as asserted by the Azeri party, lasted an hour, a serviceman of the Azeri army was killed and another was wounded. An hour later, the Azeri defense ministry report says, Armenian armed forces detachments fired upon Azeri positions in Fizuli region.
