16 opposition parties of Armenia have condemned the murder of chairman of the Council of the Public Television and Radio company of Armenia Tigran Naghdalian committed December 28, 2002. Making a statement on that occasion today they called the country authorities and the forces siding with them not to turn that tragedy into a subject of political speculations. “We are very much worried that the inquiry of the case is premeditatedly directed: ruling out other versions of the crime, including the one connected with the shooting in the Armenian parliament in October 1999, which is especially exaggerated among the people,” – the document in particular says. The opposition parties suppose that the created atmosphere is inadmissible, especially on the eve of presidential elections in Armenia.
