The defense potential of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, forming part of the Organization of the Treaty on Collective Security (OTCS), will become closely integrated in the short-term outlook. As reported by “Belta” agency, stated chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Anatoly Kvashnin being present at the joint Belarus- Russian military exercises in Minsk. In his words, the parties “will use united plans, which will mean joint standardization, unification, as well as a joint defense and industrial economic potential.” A. Kvashnin also reported that within the OTCS framework a program for developing armament and equipment for 2006-20016 will be adopted.
