Leader of the National-Democratic Union, candidate for Armenian president Vazgen Manukian considered the “525” Baku newspaper report about the alleged statement made by him on the alleged connection between Armenian president Robert Kocharian and “Al Qaeda” terrorist group, as well as his agreement to create terrorist bases in Nagorno Karabakh as the next misinformation. According to the Azeri newspaper, the statement on that was made by Vazgen Manukian at a press conference organized for foreign journalists. “I did not meet with foreign journalists at all, and I did not make such statements,” – Vazgen Manukian himself told “De Facto” agency. The statements of Azeri politicians testify the apparent misinformation nature of Baku’s recurrent canard. In particular, president of the Association of Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the North Atlantic Sulhaddin Akper told “Olaylar” agency that Azeri mass media played a large role in the spreading of such cases in the world community. “Such state of affairs is worth approval. It is desirable for the press and information-analytic centers of the country to adopt new methods. This information should be used in psychological struggle and information war,” – Sulhaddin Akper stated.
