ARMENIAN OPPOSITION PARTY FOR ECONOMIC UNIFICATION WITH RUSSIA

“National Unity” opposition party will build the electoral program of proposing its candidate for the president of Armenia on the necessity of economic unification with Russia. Leader of the party Artashes Geghamian stated it at a press conference in Moscow. In his words, Armenia needs not only common economic space with Russia, but also similar tax and custom laws. Otherwise, the party leader considers, Armenia will find itself in complete isolation. At the same time he noted that such a union with Russia was impossible under the present Armenian leadership, as a trend towards closing in with NATO is observed in the policy followed by the country authorities.
