OSCE MINSK GROUP CO-CHAIRS WELCOME MEETING OF ARMENIAN AND AZERI DEFENSE MINISTERS

The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk group for settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict are concerned over exacerbation of the situation at the Armenian-Azeri border. OSCE Minsk group Russian ambassador Nikolay Gribkov told “Arminfo” agency. It should be reminded that cases of violation of the cease-fire regime at the borders of Armenia, Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan have become more frequent lately. In Gribkov’s words, although the Minsk group co-chairs did not hold meetings lately, exacerbation of the situation at the border was discussed by them by telephone. At the same time he noted that the MG co-chairs were satisfied with the fact that there was a meeting between defense ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan Serge Sargsian and Safar Abiyev, aiming at prevention of further incidents at the border. The Russian co-chair also expressed hope for such incidents not to repeat in the future.
