OVER 100 ARMENIANS ILLEGALLY LIVING IN TURKMENISTAN TRANSPORTED TO YEREVAN

Today over 100 Armenians, who were illegally living in Turkmenistan, were transported to Yerevan from Ashgabat via a special flight. In the words of chief of the Ashgabat office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Zoran Milovic, as reported by “ITAR-TASS,” all of them expressed wish to return to their fatherland. The corresponding statements were received by the Armenian embassy in Turkmenistan, which for long has been engaged in assisting Armenians, who found themselves in the territory of Turkmenistan mainly due to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. As reported by Milovic, through the mediation of the IOM the Norwegian government allocated $ 57 thousand for the transportation. According to the information of the Armenian embassy, over 500 illegal working migrants from Armenia are still in Turkmenistan.
