WITH EVERY MEETING OF ARMENIAN AND AZERI PRESIDENTS, STEP TO KARABAKH ISSUE SETTLEMENT MADE

I cannot say that there are definite results but I am sure that we are on the right way. Armenian President has stated that on completion of the Prague meeting with Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev. According to him, «with every new meeting, we make another step in the process of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue settlement». «Presidential elections are expected in both states and it is inadmissible that the settlement issue becomes a subject of presidential speculations», Kocharian stated. Heydar Aliev, agreeing to the evaluation of Robert Kocharian added, though there was not a noticeable progress at the meetings, but that is better than to do nothing that would double the crisis. President also noted that the role of the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs that assist in peaceful settlement of the issue. Today the meetings of the President of Armenia with the Presidents of France and Georgia are expected.
