Armenian’s membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO) promotes economic development of the state. US ambassador to RA John Ordway has stated that today in his interview with journalists. According to him, WTO membership will be another evidence of that in Armenia, there are quite developed market relations, the state’s economy is in accordance with several criteria and the country is ready for economic cooperation with other states. The WTO membership will become an attractive factor for international investors and private businessmen, the diplomat noted. As «De-facto» agency reports, at the same time the ambassador noted, there are a number of factors that are to assist in the development of the state’s economy that Armenia can not settle alone – the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, opening of borders and regional communications. It should be noted that the final meeting on Armenia’s WTO membership will start today in Geneva.
