Armenia has become an associate member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Chair of the parliamentary commission for defense, national security and internal affairs Vahan Hovanissain stated that in his interview with “Arminfo” agency on his return from Istanbul where the annual NATO PA session had been completed two days before. According to him, the associate membership in the Assembly will let Armenia represent Yerevan’s official attitude to issues on further development of the region and security. It should be noted that the decision on Azerbaijan’s becoming an associate member in the same organization was also made at the NATO PA session.
