The Council of the defense ministers of the CIS state-members has passed a number of documents on activation of cooperation in the military sphere. Documents passed at the 43 Moscow meeting of the Council are to realize mutual interests and joint measures in the military cooperation sphere. The meeting participants attached special importance to the concept of the CIS military cooperation until 2010. They noted «the requirements of securing the CIS national security claim further development of the military cooperation and military integration». Defense ministers considered the issue on establishment of the coordination committee of heads of intercommunication units of the Armed Forces of the CIS member-states and of the joint system of intercommunication of CIS Armed Forces. A decision on organization of communication of cooperation of the Headquarters on coordination of military cooperation of CIS member-states and the bodies of military department of the Armed forces, on information exchange between their general staffs was also made. The defense ministers approved the clause on the united interim transport commission and approved the clause on cooperation between the hydremeteorological services of the Armed Forces. A great importance was attached to the issue of financing, on which the council of the Ministers passed several decisions as well as confirmed the agenda of the next meeting that it to take place in 2003.
