REGIONAL COOPERATION INTENDS PARTNERSHIP IN SECURITY SPHERE AS WELL, ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTER STATED

The regional cooperation intends not only economic, political and cultural cooperation but also partnership in the security sphere. Armenian deputy foreign minister Ruben Shugarian stated that at the “Rifles proliferation. International norms and Caucasian reality” seminar in Yerevan. According to him, there is an opinion that it is impossible to speak about security in the region when there are conflict situations. Meanwhile, the deputy foreign minister thinks that conflicts might be a transition period for settlement of more global issues. 2003 April-May, within the NATO “Partnership for Peace” program framework, another seminar on arms proliferation in the South Caucasus will take place and this is the evidence of serious attitude to that issue, he added.
