The mediating potential of the OSCE Minsk group on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict peaceful settlement is not exhausted yet. Nagorno-Karabakh foreign minister Ashot Gulian has stated that in his interview with “Arminfo” agency. According to him, the problem is that to what extent the sides assist in the realization of the initiatives of the mediators. “We have noted for several times that the keys to the Karabakh issue settlement is in Stepanakert and Baku’s hands and without mutual steps towards each other, the progress in the settlement is out of question”, NKR foreign minister noted. He noted that the last visit of the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs to the region was the evidence of mediators’ readiness to make their efforts more active and to try to make positive progress regarding the Karabakh process. “It seems to me that exactly the objective position of the OSCE Minsk group was the reason of Baku’s displeasure with the organization activities. I want to note that within the OSCE Minsk group framework, a great work is done, we have sufficient experience and material that are a good basis to continue the negotiation process. It would be wrong to refuse that potential and to start everything from the very outset”, stated Ashot Gulian.
