Eduard Shevardnadze is not going to become a presidential nominee for the third time. He also speaks against amendments to the state legislation that will allow anyone to run for the presidential office for the third time. Commenting on the report that “a package of amendments on the basis of which Eduard Shevardnadze would be able to pretend to position of the head of Georgia”, he stated, “This is not to be done. Georgia has high prestige of a country building democratic society. And we should value that”. Shevardnadze also denied the reports stating in the case of reestablishment of the cabinet institute in the state, he would hold the Prime Minister position. “I am 75 and I do not know how long I will live. I plan to write memoirs and it will take at least 2-3 years”, the Georgian President stated.
