RUSSIAN LAW-ENFORCEMENT BODIES TRIED TO DETAIN AZERI JOURNALIST NEAR THEATER CENTER IN MOSCOW

Russian special services tried to detain reporter of “Leader” Azeri TV company Nariman Mehtiyev near the Theater Center in Moscow, where over 700 hostages had been held by Chechen terrorists. As reported by “Arminfo” agency referring to “Turan,” the Azeri embassy in Russia supposes that the Caucasian appearance of the journalist had aroused suspicion of the law-enforcement bodies, nevertheless the former managed to avoid being arrested and skulked. At present the embassy staff is trying to find out the whereabouts of Mehtiyev, having addressed all law-enforcement bodies Moscow for assistance.
