“Armenia aims at extension of the relations with the NATO within the framework of the “Partnership for peace” program and through the NATO council of cooperation”, Armenian foreign minister stated in his interview with “Mediamax” agency. “That process and the Europe General Armament Treaty make our security policy, the elements of which are bilateral relations with Russia, cooperation within the Collective Security Pact framework and military cooperation with the US started recently, complete”, the ministers noted. Answering the question on whether the Georgia’s objective to join the NATO can result in new separating lines in the South Caucasus, Vardan Oskanian said: “Every state itself determines the ways for its security”. At the same time, according to him, it is necessary to take into consideration the interests of the neighboring states and the regional security in general. Now one point is clear: the NATO does not think the Caucasian states are ready for the membership. So it is early to speak about establishment of separating lines, the minister noted.
