YEREVAN READY TO CONTINUE DIALOG WITH ANKARA, ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTER STATED

If the leadership of Turkey wishes to continue the dialog with Armenia after parliamentary elections in that state, we are ready for that, aiming at achieving notable results in our bilateral relations. Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian stated that in his interview with “Mediamax” agency. At that he expressed the opinion that the Armenian-Turkish dialog started at the beginning of this year, is useful for Turkey too. “The meeting with Turkish foreign minister Gurel gave the opportunity to consider urgent issues and to present our positions, in particular regarding the Karabakh issue directly”, Oskanian noted. Although those meetings did not have any practical results, the dialog itself was useful, he added. Answering the question on the reality of the Armenian-Turkish relations, the Armenian foreign minister noted, until final settlement of the Karabakh issue, opening of the Armenia-Turkey borders or establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states is improbable but possible. “Slow progress is more real and in that case I thinks that some positive progress in the Armenian-Turkish relations is possible until the Nagorno-Karabakh issue settlement”, the minister noted.
