Armenia government creating strategic initiatives center

A strategic initiatives center will be created with a public-private partnership format, Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan told a Cabinet session on Thursday, December 1.

According to the premier, the center will be tasked to develop long-term strategies, as well as packages for short-term and long-term reforms in different directions through close cooperation with the private sector.

"We have used that platform on a number of occasions for various discussions, the center will be created to start operations by yearend," Karapetyan said.

President Serzh Sargsyan said on November 26 that in the event that Armenia's ruling Republican Party (RPA) wins the parliamentary election in 2017, Karapetyan will continue heading the government.
