WORLD COMMUNITY LACKS CONCRETE STEPS FOR STRUGGLE AGAINST TERROR, RUSSIAN BORDER GUARDING SERVICE DIRECTOR CONSIDERS

The world community lacks concrete steps for struggling against terror. Director of the Federal border guarding service of Russia, colonel general Constantine Totsky expressed such opinion on the completion of the 45-th sitting of the CIS Council of frontier troops commanders in Yerevan. In his words, after the September 11 acts of terrorism many countries have undertaken “huge security measures,” but as developments show, they are not sufficient. C.Totsky emphasized that it was not possible to secure the country by merely strengthening borders, of which the recent terrorist outrage in Finland is an example. “To all appearance, there is lack of concrete efforts – targeted strikes on the nests, from where acts of terrorism emanate,” – the Russian frontier guarding service director said.
