Today the Tbilsi “Georgian times” newspaper has issued a sensational report stating that on Eduard Shevardnadze’s initiative, his meeting with Chechen separatists’ leader is planned in Tbilisi. As “Arminfo” agency reports, referring to the informed sources, “Georgian Times” reports that Eduard Shevardnadze, planing to be a mediator of the coming meeting of Russian president Vladimir Putin with Aslan Mashadov, is going to make its detailed agree in advance. “Georgian times” also issued comments of a number of Georgian political figures regarding the possible meeting of Mashadov and Shevardnadze. Georgian parliament vice-Speaker Vahtang Rcheulishvili stated in his interview with the newspaper journalists: “I think it is possible that such a meeting will take place. I think Shevardnadze will certainly make agree with Vladimir Putin the issues that will be discussed with Aslan Mashadov in advance”. At that the vice-Speaker added that it couldn’t be allowed that new disagreements arise when there are hopes for improvement of the Georgian-Russian relations.
